RICHFIELD, MN- The Chippewa Steel took to the ice on Friday night for game two of a three-game weekend series with the Minnesota Magicians. Chippewa entered the contest with a 6-3 record against the Magicians on the season.
The Steel found the back of the net exactly one minute into the game. Jake Vaughan scored the goal, his 7th goal of the season assisted by Luke Farthing.
The game remained 1-0 in favor of the Steel until Braiden Dorfman added another goal in the third period, his 10th goal of the year. Jake Vaughan was able to find the back of the net for a second time to extend the lead to 3-0. Minnesota was finally able to get on the scoreboard late in the third period with a goal from Robert Christy but it wasn’t nearly enough as the Steel earned a 3-1 victory.
Trent Burnham was spectacular in net for Chippewa, saving 34 of 35 shots faced.
