The Chippewa Steel of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that defenseman Alex Schwab has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Aurora University.

The 6’4/210 lbs. native of Lake Villa, IL played in 40 games for the Steel during the 2019-2020 season, recording 7 points.

“Alec is a hardworking young man that is a great teammate on and off the ice. We’re excited for him to begin the next chapter of his career at Aurora and wish him the best of luck moving forward,” said Steel Head Coach Carter Foguth.

The Chippewa Steel are members of the NAHL which is the oldest and largest junior hockey league of its kind in the United States and one of only two USA Hockey-certified leagues that operate under the non pay-to-play model.  The NAHL is also one of the best at advancing players to NCAA and professional hockey.
