The North American Hockey League has announced that defenseman Luke Farthing and forward Connor Szmul have been named to the All-Midwest Division Team.
Connor Szmul led the Steel to a 10-2 start to open the 2019-2020 season and was named Midwest- Division forward of the month for October. Szmul recorded a team-high 48 points in 51 games played and was a force on the power play with 9 power play goals and 6 power play assists. Connor was able to cap off his junior hockey career with a Division 1 commitment to the University of Alabama-Huntsville.

Luke Farthing was a consistent player for the Steel all season, helping lead the defense squad with his + 22 plus/minus rating. Farthing was not only impressive on the defensive side but also finished in the top three in the league for goals by a defenseman at 12. Farthing was selected to the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament in February and earned a Division 1 commitment to Ferris State University.
