Chippewa Falls, WI – The Chippewa Steel of the NAHL have announced the signing of James Miller to a tender contract for the 2020-2021 season. James is a defenseman from Excelsior, MN.

James played for Minnetonka High and Team CCM during the 2019-2020 season. The 5’11 185-pound defenseman recorded 20 points in 41 total games. Miller did dress for Chippewa in 3 games toward the end of the NAHL season.

“James is a good skating 2-way defenseman. He played a few games for us down the stretch and we look forward to him being on the blue line for us next season,” stated Steel Head Coach Carter Foguth.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders – plus or minus any trades – which become active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft.
