Game Preview | Chippewa Steel at Austin Bruins

(Chippewa Falls, WI)- On Friday the Steel continue their four-game road trip as they travel to Riverside Arena in Austin, MN to take on the Austin Bruins.

This will be the first matchup between these two teams this season. Austin has a record of 4-8 after twelve games, while the Steel are looking to improve upon their 2-7 start to the season.

Top performers for the Bruins thus far are Stevens Point, WI native Barrett Brooks with four goals and four assists, followed by John Lundy and Carson Riddle both with seven points each. In net Tyler Shea has started eight games for the Bruins posting a 3.21 goals against average and has gotten only three wins.

For Chippewa, Ryan Waltman leads the pack with four goals and four assists on the season, he is trailed by Braden Lindstrom and Spencer Oyler with six points apiece. In his second season with the Steel Grant Boldt has played seven of nine games between the pipes posting a 3.73 goals against average.

Statistically it looks to be an evenly matched game, but the Steel could hold an important advantage on special teams where their powerplay has been strong at 22.6% while the Bruins are struggling at 7.5%,

The puck drops on Friday at 7:00 pm at Riverside Arena in Austin, MN as both teams look to even out their records on the season.
