Game Preview | Chippewa Steel at Austin Bruins
(Chippewa Falls, WI)- Tomorrow night the Steel will get another shot at the Austin Bruins as they make their way back to Riverside Arena in Austin, MN for a 7:00 PM rematch.
The Steel look to even up the series after a hard fought game last weekend where they came up short in a shootout.
The Steel had a hot start last game scoring first and outshooting Austin 10-5 after the first period. The Steel would hold the lead for the majority of the game and outshoot their opponent 26-25 in regulation.
The lone goal was scored in the first by Spencer Cox, while Braden Lindstrom converted in the shootout. Both goals by Cox and Lindstrom were their first goals on the season. On the back end, goaltender Gus Bylin played well saving 23 of 24 shots in regulation and overtime.
The Steel’s powerplay still ranking seventh out of twenty-three teams in the league at 20%, and the penalty kill percentage at 87.9% will likely be an important piece again as they look to steal a game back from the Bruins.
The puck drops on Friday at 7:00 pm at Riverside Arena in Austin, MN for the second matchup.
