(Chippewa Falls, WI)- The Steel returned to home ice tonight to battle the Austin Bruins in another Midwest division matchup.

In the first period both teams played a clean twenty minutes, resulting in no penalties. Offense was tightly matched by both teams with the Steel outshooting the Bruins slightly by a 9-7 shot margin.

The Steel took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Jack Brown when he tucked in his own rebound past Bruins goaltender Hudson Hodges. The Steel stretched their lead to two just 31 seconds later when Spencer Cox fed Ryan Waltman in the slot and he ripped it blocker side.

In the third the Steel kept offensive control outshooting the Bruins again and locking down on defense to keep Austin off the scoreboard. The Bruins pulled their goaltender with just under three minutes remaining, but Grant Boldt and the Steel would shut them down for good. Grisha Gotovets would add an empty net goal with just about two minutes remaining to seal the seventh victory of the season for Chippewa.

Grant Boldt would get the shutout making 22 saves on the night.
