Steel Take Down Jets

(Chippewa Falls, WI)- On night two of the three game weekend series the Steel entered the Chippewa Area Ice Arena with redemption on their minds.

This time the Steel would get on the board first, just twenty-six seconds into the game. Ian Famulak in his 150th game in the NAHL would rip a puck over the shoulder of Jets goaltender Riley Sims for his eleventh of his career. The rest of the period did not grant many chances for either team so the Steel would carry their one goal lead into the second period.

In the second the Steel kept their foot on the gas by adding to their lead midway through the period. Daniel Roszival picked up a rebound in front of Sims and put it home to make it 2-0. Assist was credited to Jakob Karpa. Shortly after, Ian Famulak feeling the magic of his 150th game would have his first multi-goal night of his career getting his second of the year and increasing the lead to three. Assists on the play went to Ethan Benz and Liam Hansson.

Steel sitting nice entering the third with a powerplay and a three-goal lead as they continued to dominate play early on. With seven minutes remaining and a man advantage the Jets pulled Sims from the net for the extra attacker and with a scramble in front Janesville thought they had scored but it was ruled no goal. Jets would get another chance 6 on 4 with just over a minute remaining and denied Berkeliev of his shutout. Still one wouldn’t be enough as the Steel dominate the Jets winning 3-1.

The Steel return to the Chippewa Area Ice Arena tomorrow Saturday May 8th against the Janesville Jets. Limited tickets are available at chippewasteelhockey.com.
