Chippewa Falls, WI- The Chippewa Steel of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Liam Hansson has committed to play NCAA Division 1 hockey for the Air Force Academy. Hansson will attend the Academy beginning in the fall of 2022.
The 6’0/187 lbs. native of Ramsey, NJ played in 34 games for the Steel during the 20-21 season, leading the team in points with 30.
Hansson played in 47 games for the Jamestown Rebels prior to coming to Chippewa Falls. For the Rebels, he scored 9 goals and dished out 22 assists during the 2019-2020 season.
“Liam has tremendous skill, he has elite vision and high-end scoring ability. He is going to fit in very well at Air Force under Coach Serratore. We look forward to having him back with us next year and gaining another year of growth while he prepares for the Academy,” stated Steel Head Coach and General Manager Mike Janda.
