Chippewa Steel Fall 3-2 to Jamestown Rebels

Chippewa Steel suffered their first loss on Wednesday, September 19th to the Jamestown Rebels out of the east division in the North American Hockey League.

The Rebels quickly attacked the Steel in the first period scoring three goals. Jake Felker started the scoring for the Rebels with a goal assisted by Alex Roy and Nate Clark. Joe McGrath scored the second Rebel goal which was assisted by Alex Johnson and Brendan Westbrook. Felker sandwiched McGrath’s goal with another for himself which was assisted by Jim Glynn and Quinn Martin.

The Steel got on the scoreboard in the third period with goals from Jacob Dirks and newcomer Chase Davidson but it wasn’t enough to complete a comeback. Steel goalie Josh Langford was in net, stopping 19 of the 22 Rebel shots. The Steel will be back in action tomorrow at the North American Hockey League Showcase from Blaine, Minnesota. Puck drop is scheduled for 4 PM against the Amarillo Bulls.

The Steel return to Chippewa Area Ice Arena for Markquart Motors night on Saturday, September 29 against the Janesville Jets. Doors open at 6 with puck drop scheduled for 7:10. Fans can purchase tickets by calling the ticket office at 715-861-2131 or online at chippewasteelhockey.com
