Steel Beat the Brahmas
The Steel topped the Lone Star Brahmas 4-1 in Friday night’s game of the Showcase.
Early in the 1stperiod Camden Thiesing put one in the net, with an assist from Tomas Vochozka, to put the Steel up 1-0 for the first period. The Brahmas tied the game in the 2ndperiod with a goal from Frank Trazzera, assisted by Jake Suede. Not long after, Thiesing broke the tie to put the Steel up 2-1. Thiesing’s goal was assisted by Killian Kiecker-Olson and Tomas Vochozka. Connor Zilisch got a goal of his own to end the 2ndperiod.
Connor Szmul put the only goal on the scoreboard for the 3rdperiod. His goal was assisted by Fillip Dusek. In goal for the Brahmas was Wes Mankowski with 25 saves out of 29 shots. Owen Zdunski was in goal for the Steel with 26 saves out of 27 shots.
The Steel play their final game of the Showcase series tonight at 6:00 p.m against the Topeka Pilots. The Steel are back on home ice for Markquart Motors night on September 29thagainst the Janesville Jets.
