Steel Come Up Short to the Bruins
After a tough fought game against the Austin Bruins, the Chippewa Steel came up short 5-4.
Early in the 1st period, the Bruins’ Levi Stauber found the back of the net to start the game off 1-0. His goal was assisted by Dante Sheriff and Jed Pietila. The Bruins added another goal to the board shortly after with a goal from Hugh Larkin assisted by Joseph Winkelmann and Andrew Wills. The Steel fought back with a powerplay goal from Austin Mikesch, assisted by Grant Reichenbacher and Tomas Vochozka.
The Steel came out strong in the 2nd period with a goal from Tomas Vochozka assisted by Dylan Moulton and Killian Kiecker-Olson. After solid saves from Steel goalie Josh Langford, the Bruins got in a goal from Lane Krenzen assisted by Ian Mageau.
The Bruins got the first goal of the 3rd period, from Valdemar Ahlberg assisted by Dante Zapata. The Steel countered with a goal from Tomas Vochozka assisted by Grant Reichenbacher and Dylan Moulton. The Steel tied up the game with a hat trick goal from Vochozka with assists from Killian Kiecker-Olson and Filip Dusek. The Bruins broke the tie with a game-winning goal from Josef Mysak assisted by Noah Kim
In goal for the Steel was Josh Langford with 45 out of 50 saves. Kyle McClellan was in goal for the Bruins with 33 out of 37 saves.
