Steel Forward Camden Thiesing Commits to Ohio State University
The Chippewa Steel of the North American Hockey League are proud to announce another college commitment.
Forward Camden Thiesing, a native of Franklin, Tennessee has committed to play NCAA Division 1 hockey for Ohio State University, a member of the B1G.
“From early on in my recruiting process Ohio State had been in contact with me and after my official visit and meeting the coaching staff I knew it was the place I wanted to be. I’m excited to a part of a great Division 1 hockey program and the campus environment they provide along with their business program they offer,” stated Thiesing.
After the NAHL Showcase in September, Thiesing was named 1 of 15 NAHL players recognized on the National Hockey League’s (NHL) ‘Prospects to Watch’ list for 2019 draft-eligible players with the release of NHL Central Scouting’s preliminary list of players to watch in North America and Europe.
Thiesing has been one of the Steel’s top players so far this season. He has played in 23 games and has recorded 14 points with 6 goals and 8 assists.
“This is an exciting moment for Cam and his career. We are excited about this opportunity for him and his family,” said Interim Head Coach Carter Foguth.
Thiesing is ready to grow and develop more the rest of this season with the Steel before he eventually heads off to Ohio State. “The guys on the team knew I had my visit recently and were excited for me and my college commitment,” Thiesing said.
