Steel Lose Weekend Series to the Wings
The Steel ended their weekend series against the Wings, 0-2.
Friday night the Steel couldn’t top the Wings. The Wings came out shooting with 3 goals in the 1st period. Goals came from Peter Morgan, Nic Sicoly, and Dalton Weigel. The 2nd period the Wings got a goal from Stepan Pokorny. Jacob Dirks countered with a goal for the Steel, assisted by Michael Black. The Wings recorded 3 more goals in the 2nd period from Brad Belisle, Shawn Kennedy, and Riley Murphy. The Steel were able to get two goals in during the 3rd period. These goals were from Tomas Vochozka and Hutson Collins. Jonathan Bendorf and Sicoly got goals for the Wings to end the game 9-3.
The Wings outplayed the Steel Saturday night to get a 12-3 win. 5 goals in the 1st period were all scored by the Wings. The Steel was able to get 2 goals in the 2nd period. The first was from Matt Clark with an assist from Fillip Dusek and Connor Szmul. The second was from David Sudbrink assisted by Isaac Moberg and Ian Famulak. The Wings recorded 6 goals in the 2nd period. Late in the 3rd period, Clark got another goal for the Steel with assists from Austin Mikesch and Mason Vukonich. The Wings countered with a final goal to end the game.
