Steel Suffer Loss to Ice Dogs
Steel come up short to the Fairbanks Ice Dogs, 6-2.
A strong defense from the Steel kept the 1stperiod scoreless.
The Ice Dogs got the first goal of the night early in 2ndperiod. The Ice Dogs goal was from Parker Brown with an assist from Jonathan Sorenson. The Steel fought back with a goal from Jacob Dirks, assisted by Fillip Dusek. Fairbanks broke the tie and added a few more. Ice Dogs goals came from Parker Brown and Grant Ledford who each had two goals in the 2ndperiod.
Less than a minute into the 3rdperiod, Parker Brown of Fairbanks got another goal. Tensions were high in the 3rdperiod with quite a few penalties for fighting and roughing. The Steel didn’t back down and Connor Szmul recorded another goal for the Steel. His goal was assisted by Dylan Moultan and Matt Clark. Luke Ciolli got another goal for the Ice Dogs to bring up the score, 6-2.
In goal for the Steel was Josh Langford who had 46 out of 52 saves. Mattias Sholl was in goal for the Ice Dogs with 25 out of 27 saves.
