Steel Sweep  Brown Bears

Steel beat the Kenai River Brown Bears 3-1 to complete a weekend series sweep.

The Brown Bears were the first to get a goal on the board, with a goal from Zach Krajnik. The Steel countered with a goal from Spencer Oyler, assisted by Dylan Moulton. That first Steel goal of the night also prompted Teddy Bear Toss and the ice was filled with stuffed bears.

Only 40 seconds into the 2nd period and Camden Thiesing got the lead for the Steel with his goal assisted by Fillip Dusek. Late in the period, Jacob Dirks recorded an unassisted short-handed goal to bring the Steel to a 2-goal lead. A scoreless 3rd period gives the Steel a 3-1 win.

In goal for the Brown Bears was Gavin Enright with 31 out of 34 saves and Josh Langford for the Steel with 28 saves.

The Steel are back in action Friday, December 21sttaking on the Minnesota Magicians. Friday is Steel hat giveaway night presented by River Country Co-Op. Fans can get tickets by calling the ticket office at 715-861-2131 or online at chippewasteelhockey.com.
