“Marshfield Clinic Health System is excited to sponsor the Chippewa Steel’s Superhero Night. Kids should be in an ice arena playing hockey or watching hockey with their friends and family, but we are here when they need care. We are proud to provide pediatric care locally and have an accredited Children’s Hospital in Marshfield when more specialized care is needed.” – Dr. Robert Bullwinkle, Marshfield Clinic Health System Chippewa Valley Pediatrician.
“We’re delighted to partner with Marshfield Clinic Health System on this Superhero jersey auction and support the CLIMB Eau Claire Fund. This is an example of a great partnership where we can provide our fans with a great opportunity to bid on these specialty jerseys while supporting a great cause,” Steel Business Manager Jake Serwe stated.
More information on CLIMB®: Talking to kids about cancer can be difficult. That’s why Marshfield Clinic Health System offers CLIMB® (Children’s Lives Include Moments of Bravery), a free six week course that provides emotional support to kids who have a parent or other loved one diagnosed with cancer. The program is open to the community regardless of where treatment is being received. Children learn that being sad, frightened, and even angry is okay. Specially trained facilitators help them work through those feelings with open discussions, activities, and other projects. In the end, children and their families can attend a graduation ceremony to mark their progress in coping with cancer. Financial gifts to this program provide much needed materials for projects and activities, meals for the kids during the program so mom and dad can take a little time for themselves, and visual aids such as a big teddy bear which demonstrates IV placement and other forms of treatment.
Tickets for Superhero Night presented by Marshfield Clinic Health System are available by calling the Steel office at 715-861-2131 or visiting chippewasteelhockey.com.
