Steel Get Ready to Take on Magicians
A home and home series is in store for the Steel this weekend as they take on boarder rival, Minnesota Magicians. The Steel will host the Magicians tonight before hitting the road to play in Richfield, Minnesota on Saturday night.
The Magicians are dominating the Midwest Division, holding the 1st place standing. Although this team leads the division, they are coming off a losing weekend to the 2nd place Fairbanks Ice Dogs. The Ice Dogs shut out the Magicians both nights. Last time the Magicians faced the Steel, the Magicians beat the Steel by narrow margins of 3-2. Top skater, forward Cameron Buhl with 49 points on the season, will be the one the Steel need to shut down.
Although the Steel are coming off a split weekend with the Kenai River Brown Bears, they are looking to feed off of the Magicians downturn and come out on top. Killian Kiecker-Olson continues to lead the team with 27 points. Jacob Dirks and Camden Thiesing follow with 25 points respectively.
The puck drops tonight at the Chippewa Area Ice Arena at 7:10 p.m. Join the Steel for Superhero Night presented by Marshfield Clinic Health System. Fans are encouraged to wear their best superhero costumes and a jersey auction will take place to benefit CLIMB Eau Claire Fund.
