CHIPPEWA FALLS, WI- The Chippewa Steel return home to the Chippewa Area Ice Arena this upcoming weekend to face the Springfield Jr. Blues. This is the second meeting for these two teams which the Steel prevailed victorious in early October.
The Steel are looking for a dynamic performance at home as the team has been on the road for their last six games. Currently ranked 4th in the division, the Steel are only 15 points behind the leading Kenai River Brown Bears. Forwards Connor Szmul and Jacob Dirks lead the team in goals this season and look to lead the Steel to victory following a tough road loss to the Aberdeen Wings.
As for the Springfield Jr. Blues, they are ranked 6th in the Midwest Division and split their last series with the Janesville Jets. Hunter Longhi leads the Jr. Blues with 7 goals and Caden Villegas adds 11 assists on the year.
Friday night is Markquart Motors Night with a postgame skate and player autograph session. Saturday all fans will receive a winter hat courtesy of Chippewa Falls Kiwanis Club.
