Steel Split the Weekend with the Jets

This past weekend, the Steel split the weekend series with the Janesville Jets.

Friday night the Steel fought hard but were not able to pull off a win. The Jets came out strong and put goals in the net early on in the game. With goals from Matt Clark and Austin Mikesch, the Steel were just behind the Jets. Jacob Dirks tied up the game in the 3rd period, but the Jets got away with one more goal, to end the game 4-3.

The Steel carried their energy from Friday into Saturday night’s game to beat the Jets 6-0. Grant Reichenbacher found the back of the net just over a minute into the game and that was not the last time. With a goal in each period, Reichenbacher recorded a hat trick on the night. Killian Kiecker-Olson put up two goals as well, both in the 2nd period. Tomas Vochozka had a goal of his own along with an assist on one of Reichenbacher’s goals. Josh Langford had a shutout between the pipes saving all 24 shots sent his way.

The Steel will head to Janesville this weekend to take on the Jets for another weekend series. The Steel will be back at home Friday, November 16th for Military Appreciation Night.
