Steel Get Ready to Take on the Wilderness
The Steel will take on the Minnesota Wilderness for the first time in regular season, starting with a home game on Friday night and a road game on Saturday Night.
The Minnesota Wilderness are ranked 5th in the Central Division with a record of 9-8. In the past few weeks, they have split a weekend series with the Jets and the Bismarck Bobcats. The Wilderness will be coming off a winning weekend, after sweeping the Brookings Blizzard last weekend. The Wilderness’s top skater is forward Luke Dow who has 16 points, 2 goals, and 14 assists. Forward Aaron Myers follows with 15 points, 8 goals, and 7 assists.
The Steel are coming together this season and bringing home some wins. The past two weekends the Steel have split series with the 2nd ranked Janesville Jets. Tomas Vochozka leads the team with 17 points, 7 goals, and 10 assists. Camden Thiesing and Killian Kiecker-Olson follow with 13 points each.
The puck will drop at 7:10 p.m. tonight at the Chippewa Area Ice Arena for Military Appreciation Night. All active duty and veterans will receive free admission. Fans can purchase tickets online at chippewasteelhockey.com or by calling 715-861-2131.
