Steel Fall to Magicians 6-3

Steel fell to 1st place Minnesota Magicians Friday night at Chippewa Area Ice Arena. Halfway into the 1st period, the Magicians got on the scoreboard with a goal from Matthew Stanton, assisted by Dawson Klein and Cameron Buhl.

The Steel countered with Dylan Moulton recording a power play goal, assisted by Jacob Dirks. Just seconds after the Steel tied the game at 1, John Kernanen took back the Magicians lead with a goal making the score 2-1 in favor of the opposition. Towards the end of the 2nd period, the Magicians found the back of the net as Carter Breitenfeldt recorded a goal with an assist from Klein.

 The 3rd period saw the Magicians tally another goal to increase their lead. The goal came from Kernanen assisted by Andrew Kruse and Buhl. Just seconds after the Steel went on the power play, Killian Kiecker-Olson found the back of the net, assisted by Jacob Dirks. Fillip Dusek chipped in with a power play goal late in the 3rd period with assists from Matt Clark and Austin Mikesch. Goalie Josh Langford was pulled with a minute remaining and the Magicians got an empty net goal to bring the final score 6-3.

In goal for the Steel was Josh Langford with 29 saves. Jack Robbel was between the pipes for the Magicians notching 27 saves on the evening.
