Chippewa Falls WI- Beginning Friday night at Chippewa Area Ice Arena the Chippewa Steel play host to the Minnesota Wilderness of the Central Division in a home and home series between the two teams.
The Wilderness head into the weekend series versus Chippewa having split a series with the Bismarck Bobcats. Last Saturday, the Wilderness suffered a 3-2 shootout loss and currently sit in the third position in the Central Division standings, just 2 points behind second place Austin Bruins. Top skaters for the Wilderness are Dylan Johnson with 19 goals and 17 assists and Jack Johnson with 13 goals and 21 assists.
Chippewa fell to the first place Minnesota Magicians last Saturday night 3-2. The Wilderness swept a home and home series back on November 16th and 17th which ended up being for Head Coach Al Rooney’s last game with the organization.
Since taking over on November 20th, the Steel are 7-10 under Interim Head Coach Carter Foguth. Steel are lead by Jacob Dirks and Killian Kiecker-Olson who both sit at 23 points on the 2018-2019 campaign.
