Steel Secure a Win Over Minnesota Wilderness

Steel record a 3-2 win over the Minnesota Wilderness on Friday night at Chippewa Area Ice Arena.

Connor Szmul scored the first goal of the night to give the Steel an early 1st period lead. Szmul’s goal was assisted by Killian Kiecker Olson. Ashton Altmann of the Wilderness countered with a goal assisted by Nathan Poolman. An unassisted goal from the Steel’s Jacob Dirks put the Steel in the lead. The Wilderness tied it up with a goal from Jack Johnson assisted by Brandon McNamara.

Grant Reichenbacher broke the tie in the 2nd period and put the Steel in the lead for good. His goal was assisted by Kyle Schroeder and Isaac Moberg. A scoreless 3rd period secured the win for the Steel.

In goal, tonight for the Steel was Josh Langford with 33 saves and Ryan Fanti for the Wilderness with 27 saves.
