Steel Begin Series against Kenai River

The Steel are set to face the Kenai River Brown Bears in a 2-game series starting on Thursday night from Chippewa Area Ice Arena.

Kenai River sits at the fifth place position in the Midwest Division, just one place above the Steel.  Kenai River current has  34 points and a record of 15-23 and the Steel are right behind with 31 points and a record of 14-27.

Kenai River is coming off a split weekend with the Corpus Christi Ice Rays. Forward Zach Kranjnik has been a top performer for the for the Brown Bears. Kranjnik has  33 points, 12 goals, and 21 assists during the 2018-2019 campaign.

The last time the Steel matched up with the Brown Bears, they swept them in Alaska and are looking to do the same on the on their home ice. Killian Kiecker-Olson leads the team with 26 points and locked in 2 more goals last weekend to bring his total to 10 goals this season.

The puck will drop Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. at the Chippewa Area Ice Arena. Fans can get tickets at the door or online at chippewasteelhockey.com.
