Steel Fall to Brown Bears
Steel split the weekend series with the Brown Bears after they came out on top with a 5-0 win on Friday night.
Kenai River started strong in the 1st period with an early goal from Connor Scahill assisted by Jackson Nauss. Zach Krajnik of the Brown Bears got another goal with assists by Lukass Sicevs and Michael Spethmann.
Justin Daly of the Brown Bear’s found the back of the net unassisted in the 2nd period.
Midway through the 3rd period, JJ Boucher the back of the net for 4th goal of the night for the Brown Bears. Connor Scahill increased the lead and was able to score a powerplay goal with assists from Zach Krajnik and JJ Boucher to bring them to a 5-0 win.
Gavin Enright was in goal tonight for the Brown Bears with 33 saves. Igor Samokhvalov started in goal with 6 out of 9 saves before Josh Langford went into the game in the 2nd period after the Brown Bears 3rd goal. Langford ended the night with 22 out of 24 saves in relief.
Steel are back at home next Friday, February 22nd at 7:10 p.m. for Superhero Night presented by Marshfield Clinic Health System.
