Steel Announce 2019-2020 Roster

(Chippewa Falls, WI)- The Chippewa Steel have announced their roster for the 2019-2020 season. The roster includes twelve returning players from the young inaugural season roster. The Steel will return three out of the top five-point scores from a season ago in Jacob Dirks, Connor Szmul and Killian Kiecker-Olson. In net, Igor Samokhvalov returns for a second season after recording a 0.906 save percentage in eleven games of action.

The roster features players from nine states including Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, California, Alaska, Tennessee, Colorado, and Wisconsin. Forward Kent Lee, Forward Grisha Gotovets and Goalie Igor Samokhvalov are the three foreign-born players on the roster. To view the entire roster click here.

“We are excited about the roster we have heading into the season. All the guys have started to come together over the past 3 weeks and have made great progress throughout training camp. Our overall team speed combined with our playmaking ability should make us an effective team throughout the season,” stated Steel Head Coach Carter Foguth.

The Steel will open their season on the road Friday, September 13th against Janesville Jets before returning to Chippewa Area Ice Arena on Saturday, September 14th for the Home Opener featuring a Magnet Schedule Giveaway Presented by Holly Bowe Coldwell Banker Brenizer, Realtors. Come early and enjoy 2 for 1 Leinenkugel’s Oktoberfest from 6:00-Puck Drop. Puck drop is slated for 7:10 p.m.
