The Chippewa Steel took on the Minnesota Magicians on Friday evening in Richfield, MN after sweeping the Magicians back at Chippewa Area Ice Area last weekend.
After a nearly scoreless first period of action, Minnesota was able to find the back of the net at the 19:22 mark. Colin Stein recorded his first goal of the season, assisted by Jake Seitz and Joey Foss. The Magicians took the 1-0 lead into the dressing room after the first period.
The second period was all Minnesota as they were able to extend their lead to 3-0 on a pair of goals. Chris Konin scored his fourth goal of the season and Robert Christy was able to get another puck past starter Grant Boldt at the 13:26 mark.
Chippewa finally was able to get on the scoreboard in the third period with a goal recorded by Jake Vaughan on the power play but it wasn’t enough as the Steel fell to Minnesota 4-1
The Steel will wrap up their weekend series with the Minnesota Magicians on Saturday evening from Richfield Ice Arena. Puck drop is slated for 7:05.
