CHIPPEWA FALLS, WI – The Chippewa Steel are formally welcoming Carson Van Zuilen after he signed his tender contract back in January!
Van Zulien (19) just wrapped up his first season of junior hockey with the Granite City Lumberjacks. In 32 games, the Northfield, MN native tallied 10 goals and 16 assists for 26 points.
Associate Head Coach DJ Void is really excited for Van Zulien’s opportunity with the Steel. “Carson was a kid who was high up on our lists last year… he has good vision and can be sneaky shifty with the puck. We are extremely excited to hear he is going to get the opportunity with the Steel.”
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders – plus or minus any trades – which become active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft.
The Steel are excited to bring him to Chippewa Valley and wish him congratulations!
