CHIPPEWA FALLS, WI- The story of every junior hockey player is different. Young athletes alike often leave their hometowns to travel across the country to chase their dreams of playing hockey at the collegiate level. Kent Lee, however, took this dream to international lengths to peruse his hockey career in the NAHL.
Kent Lee is originally from Misawa, Japan and is in his first season with the Chippewa Steel. He came to find hockey with some help from his father who encouraged him to play at a young age. Kent was candid enough to admit it wasn’t his first love, however once he had formed tight friendships with his teammates the sport began to grow on him. It’s evident that family is especially important to Kent Lee. In his spare time, Kent enjoys spending time with his billet brothers and his Chippewa Falls family. When asked how he stays motivated and inspired, Ken said “I play for my family for sure.”
During the off-season Kent also splits time training in California with his old teammates. Having spent a fair amount of time playing and training on the west coast, Kent is an avid Los Angeles Kings fan. When he isn’t in California, Kent returns to his hometown in Japan to skate with the professional league there.
Kent Lee also talked about his desire to play college hockey. His academic interests lie in the business field and he aspires to major in a business-related topic when he attends college. For now, Kent continues to build upon his skills and be a dynamic member of the Chippewa Steel organization.
