CHIPPEWA FALLS, WI- The Chippewa Steel are set for another weekend of hockey at home against the Minnesota Wilderness. This is the first of two series meetings for these teams, the second coming later this month on the road. The puck will drop at 7:10pm on both Friday and Saturday night at Chippewa Area Ice Arena and can also be viewed on HockeyTV.
The Chippewa Steel continue to have an incredible home ice advantage going into February. With an overall record at 14-2 at home, the Steel have won their last nine games in Chippewa. Steel assistant captain Isaac Moberg added to the excitement at home with a hat trick during last Saturday’s 5-2 win over the Bruins. With playoffs approaching, the Steel are looking to stay healthy and remain towards the top of the division standings.
The Minnesota Wilderness are currently 19-18-2 on the year and sitting at 5thplace in the Central Division. The Wilderness have won four of their last ten games and were swept last weekend by the Janesville Jets. Minnesota’s goal scoring efforts are currently led by forward Nate Horn while defenseman Blake Holmes leads the team in assists.
